We encountered an interesting problem this week. The client told us that the fuel release door on her 2020 Volvo XC40 has a mind of its own. Sometimes it does not close properly, sometimes it opens on its own. The problem lies in the fuel door lock actuator. Volvo seems to have modified this part since the part number has changed. Unfortunately the lock actuator is not sold separately on the volvo xc40 and the entire fuel filter housing needs to be replaced. The part was installed and fuel door operation went back to normal. Little fixes make for happy Volvo clients.
